AIMS OF SJB
SJB A.F.C operates teams from under 6 years of age up to under 16 years of age. It is our aim to encourage children of all abilities to play football and hopefully improve their skill and understanding of the game.
It is our aim to ensure that children train with others of the same ability, in this way we hope they gain a better sense of achievement at coaching sessions.
It is our aim, where possible, to operate two sides between the ages of U6 and U10 so that the teams play against children of similar ability, therefore ensuring that the experience of playing matches is an enjoyable one.
It is our aim that all of the Team Managers and Coaches gain level one coaching qualification, as a minimum, in order to deliver quality coaching to the children.
It is our policy that each age group has its own seperate coaching session. The coaching sessions centre on improving individual skill and encouraging teamwork.
It is our aim that the younger age groups train indoors during the winter months.
Teamwork is encouraged through participation in small-sided games, these ensure that the children are involed more and learn to work with other players. S J B operates a code of conduct for players to promote fair play and respect for each other as well as coaches and referees and opponents.
